How to Test a Click Tracker

If you are testing just a basic click tracker, it’s easy to test. Just visit the click tracker link and see if you end up at the destination URL.

If you are using an advanced click tracker, it may be more difficult to test.

If the click tracker settings should reject a click from you because of country etc., you should end up at the secondary or rejection URL. You personally will not be able to test the destination URL. In cases like this, have someone that would pass the rejection tests, test the click tracker to see if they end up at the correct destination URL.

Or you could temporarily set the click tracker to except traffic from your country etc. Test the click tracker and then reverse the changes you made to the click trackers settings.

Another way to test a click tracker is to post the click tracker link on a social media site and ask your friends to help by clicking it. Then, check the stats for that click tracker to see if they look like you expected.
